We recently bought a 2014 Ford Focus from Shannon and it was a great experience. The process was quick, straightforward, and ended very favorably.

Top notch staff. Truly personable and easy to work with throughout. JustinHamlin was great. In 6 years, when I pay off my truck, I will go back to him. Seriously, I wish I had found the team sooner.

My experience was great. Everyone I worked with was extremely friendly and did everything they could to make sure our experience was outstanding. Shannon took the time to go over all of the features of the car and David in finance was very knowledgeable. We would recommend Capital Ford to anyone!

First, let me say that Jason Griffith did a fine job. It's the rest of the staff, including Jason's manager, who made buying from you aggravating. We are repeat customers and have worked with Jason before. My wife's comment was "It wasn't this difficult last time." One of the things that really has me wondering is that I was initially told (by Jason's manager) that the Focus we wanted to purchase did not qualify for an X-Plan purchase (I am an Eaton employee). Then, when I complained about the price quoted, it did qualify for X-Plan! What's up with that? Eaton has 3 facilities within 3 miles of your dealership. Rest assured that I am sharing my experience with co-workers and reminding them that if they really want an X-Plan purchase, there's another Ford store just up the road a bit! Our trade was an absolutely perfect 2011 Mustang with 12,000 miles on it. You initially offered less than the local Mazda dealer who apologized and said he doesn't sell many used Fords so couldn't offer much. Your Website said that 2014 Focuses were $5000 off the sticker price. Your price quote only had $4000 off and $1000 of that was contingent on financing with Ford at an absolutely usurious rate. When I asked about the missing $1000 I was told that I wasn't eligible because I wasn't trading a Toyota or Nissan. What a bunch of BS! I should have left to go buy a Toyota so next time I would have one to trade. (Neither item was mentioned in your web ad.) You don't put much value on repeat customers, do you? On top of that, no one could tell me what the finance rate through Ford would be until we were actually signing the papers to purchase the car. I just about packed everything up and walked out. The irony is that when I get the first payment coupon, I'm going to pay off the loan in full. So Ford will make an extra 2 bucks for all the added grief. Even my insurance company would cut your rate in half (if I needed the money, which I don't). I rarely borrow or apply for new credit, so all of my credit files are blocked. I was told that Ford Credit would need me to unblock my Equifax file if I decided to purchase. The day after signing contracts, I was called and told to unblock Transunion. When I complained about why the mix-up I was eventually told to unblock Experian instead. Shouldn't you guys know how Ford credit works? In the end we got the deal we wanted (except for the crappy Ford financing). But as my wife said, it was way more aggravating than last time and involved too much deception. On the plus side, Mark Roberts was friendly and cordial. If not for Mark & Jason, you would probably never see us back there. How could you have made our experience better? Don't do all the stuff I described above!

One of my worst overall shopping experiences. I caught on 3 occasions where I was not told the truth, and felt I was being deceived during the process. One of the fibs in particular, I will be discussing with my attorney as I believe what my salesman texted to me constituted a binding contract or offer by the dealership? Unfortunately, I am partially to blame as the old adage goes; 'A fool & his money,,," I love the truck, and wanted it in my driveway and made no secret of that. Perhaps that was my downfall, letting them know I was buying ahead of time as opposed to making them earn my business. I came to Capital Ford primarily due to the Vet-Car program because as they claim; “America’s warriors shouldn’t have to fight for a great deal”. In my opinion, it now seems a ploy to bring us in the door. Things didn’t happen as stated on the website; I was not invited to sign their Wall of Honor, and have not been contacted after the sale to inquire about my complete satisfaction or nothing else. They wouldn’t match a competitor’s price; I brought a price for the exact vehicle over $3,000 less from another dealer and still did not get a break on the price of the vehicle I was buying. What I was offered was a $1,000 discount that was already taken out of the sales price and was a moot point (another deceptive sales practice?). As for the incentives, more deception I believe, and I still did not receive them all. When I inquired about any of them, I was always told that I already got them. When it was done, I got $3,500 in incentives but it should have been more. There was no Amazon gift card, again I was told it was included; however, the $3,500 has been constant since we started. I registered and printed out the coupon for Ford’s $500 military discount and also printed out Capital’s own coupon for the $1,000 Black Friday bonus, after I presented them I was once again told that I already received those incentives. When I didn’t finance through Ford they added a thousand back. I was also told I got another $1,000 for my trade, but that never materialized either. Again, another way I was deceived, and I believe was taken advantage of as a customer. This cost me a couple thousand dollars as well. When it was done and I had reluctantly bought the truck, my salesman showed me how a couple things worked on the vehicle, told me to “enjoy it” and walked away to go back into the building. No ‘thank you’ or nothing for spending $54,000 and giving him a nice commission, deserved or not. I shouldn't be surprised though, as a half hour prior I had just complained to the sales manager about one of the other lies I was told which was a $2,500 difference in the price. At one point I was going to shoot down the sale and request a new salesman and sales manager to work with, but I had over 11 hours invested in this dealership & these people so I really didn’t feel like starting over. In hindsight, that may have been part of my downfall since I don’t think it could have got any worse? I had also planned on getting two accessories at time of purchase and have been promised on many occasions that this would be at dealer cost, not retail. However; I still cannot get an answer as to what that cost is going to be? I’m not sure, but perhaps I just fell into the category of ‘the papers are signed; let’s move on to the next’? Anyway, it’s done now, and depending on what the attorney tells me, my dealings with the dealership should be over. Fortunately for me; we have dozens of online forums, surveys and agencies available to consumers to help ensure we share our experiences with as many people as we can. I am particularly fond of Twitter and Facebook, as I can share my experiences with thousands of potential customers throughout the Triangle and greater North Carolina region with such ease.
